It’s nice to meet you
My name is Tina Maczis, and I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), as well as a Licensed Professional Clinical Art Therapist and Nationally Registered and Board Certified Art Therapist (LCPAT, ATR-BC). My services include talk therapy and art therapy, and any preferred combination of these.
I provide a safe and supportive space for clients to explore their emotions, be heard and seen, gain insight, identify willingness for change, and develop coping skills and avenues to do so.
As the founder and a mental health therapist of Likewise Licensed Therapy, I am dedicated to helping individuals from all walks of life struggling with various concerns including disordered eating, self worth, anxiety, depression, trauma, body image, relationship issues, and identity development.
I also have extensive experience in treating eating disorders.
My approach is rooted in empathy, compassion, and collaboration. I believe in being direct but kind, curious, trauma-informed, and relational. I also believe that each person's journey is unique, and I strive to tailor my therapeutic interventions to meet their specific needs and goals. I deeply believe in the therapeutic relationship and its process as a medium for change, and enjoy working with adolescents and adults alike.
My clinical experience dates back to 2011 and includes working with people struggling with: eating disorders, body image distress, identity development, life transitions, low self esteem, trauma and complex trauma, depression, anxiety, OCD, self harm and suicidal ideation, and support system and relationship difficulties. I have worked in community mental health, shelters, schools, and at higher levels of care (PHP and IOP) with groups, individuals, couples, and families.
I find it important to recognize and consider people’s various identities and cultural backgrounds and work to approach presenting problems with an intersectional, trauma-informed lens. Its my aim that all individuals feel comfortable to explore and be themselves in sessions.
Whatever may have initiated your search, it takes bravery to begin, and continue, therapy — every step of the way. I value listening, caring, and empowering clients to face the challenges and unique circumstances in their lives. My hope is that therapy is a safe and supportive space where contained exploration of a life that feels most meaningful and aligned with you can occur, whatever that may look like or be. In therapy, we can face that journey of insight, growth, healing, and potential change, together.
With warmth and hope,
Tina
